Directional drilling
THYSSEN SCHACHTBAU performs directional drilling—including controlled vertical, inclined, and horizontal drilling—to precisely create defined borehole trajectories. Using steerable drilling assemblies (e.g., MUD motors, RVDS system) as well as MWD/LWD measurement, the borehole path is continuously monitored and actively corrected. Directional drilling is used, among other things, for drainage, injection, freezing, pilot, and exploratory drilling and enables high precision even under complex geological and hydrogeological conditions.
