As part of the planned recommissioning of the Siegfried-Giesen reserve mine, THYSSEN SCHACHTBAU was commissioned by K+S to carry out an underground exploration drilling at the 400 m level. The objective of this measure was to obtain relevant geological information about the deposit and the surrounding rock through targeted core drilling. The drilling was carried out under confined conditions within the mine and required both high technical precision and comprehensive safety measures. The data obtained serve as a basis for further planning regarding the sustainable use and development of the site.
