On June 30, 2012, THYSSEN SCHACHTBAU GMBH was commissioned to artificially thaw the freezing shafts of the “Usolski Kali Kombinat” potash mine in the Perm region. The drilling and freezing operations at these shafts had already been reported in the Thyssen Mining Report 2012/13. The client, EuroChem, intended to thaw the frozen bodies of both shafts as quickly as possible after a freezing phase of approximately seventeen months in order to carry out the sealing of the tubbing column by hydro-isolation ahead of schedule.
